Our mission is to provide support for caregivers of loved ones with Dementia/Alzheimer’s disease. We were founded in order to provide a venue for caregivers to form a network of support, share common experiences, and lessons learned. We also provide issue specific training, and resource information.
Polk County Demographics
13.9% of Americans 71 years or older have some type of dementia. In Polk County there are approximately 3,600 individuals over the age of 71.
Based on the nation average, this indicates that approximately 500 people are suffering some form of memory loss or cognitive impairment here in our immediate area. Each of these individuals needs support from one or more caregivers.
Our Method
Facilitating twice monthly meetings that provide a safe harbor for self-expression, gathering knowledge, sharing personal experiences, and raising concerns.
Providing a wealth of information on local resources in regard to healthcare options, caregiver in-home support choices, and private/government resources available.
